Are we pulling our hair out yet?
I have to be honest. I have been close. But thank god I’ve had some pretty cool projects keeping me busy over the summer. Today I’m going to focus on one medium in particular, because, let’s face it, I wouldn’t be an actor in 2020 if I didn’t mention at least ONE Zoom reading!! Come on y’all! It’s a right of passage at this point! When I’m an old lady I fully expect to tell young actors “When I was your age, we couldn’t even act in the same room as our peers! Be grateful you can make eye contact with a human instead of a camera!! Kids these days..” Of course, by then we’ll all be half cyborg anyway. Who knows what we’ll be making eye contact with…
All this to say, I’ve had the pleasure of working with a bunch of amazing artists over zoom in 2020. And tonight is no exception. I’m so excited to join Palm Beach Dramaworks for their Drama(in the works) series tonight at 7:30 pm. We will be reading Dominic Finocchiaro’s How it Feels to Fall from The Sky. It’s a truly beautiful play, and I cannot wait to join some amazing South Florida actors to read it.
The reading is free! If you’d like to receive a Zoom link for tonight’s reading, click here.
I’ll leave you with some stills of a couple of awesome zoom collaborations I’ve been a part of this summer. More projects I’ve been working on will be announced soon!
Reunited and it feels so good! PBD Young Playwrights reading in July
In all realness though, Black Lives Matter, Climate Change is real, and please VOTE this Nov. But before that, escape tonight with a little story telling :)
NCP Lab: New City Players has been hosting an amazing writing lab over zoom for the entirety of quarantine. I am so grateful to have found this incredible community of artists to collaborate with.
